In 1992, Klaus Ludwig claimed the Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft title behind the wheel of the formidable Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5-16 Evolution II. It was a season defined by consistency, speed and control, as Mercedes established itself at the very top of touring car racing.
The Evolution II was the ultimate expression of the 190E platform — wider, lower and aerodynamically refined, built to dominate on track. Its aggressive stance and unmistakable silhouette made it one of the most iconic touring cars of its era.
That dominance was clear throughout the season, with Ludwig securing multiple victories on his way to the championship, as Mercedes drivers went on to win the majority of races that year.
